“Once upon a time, there was a girl…” It’s a boring phrase to start talking about myself. My name is Paula María Arribas Cintrón, and I was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, but I've lived most of my life in Trujillo Alto. My mother's name is Maria Cintrón García, and she’s a wonderful woman. My dad was Antonio Arribas Rivera, but he died when I was thirteen. I studied all my life in a private school, but then in tenth grade, my life changed when I chose University Gardens High School. It was a hard decision, but I dared myself to move, and I’m here.
Since I was a kid, I’ve been related with the arts. I started drawing when I was three, and I’m really glad that I have talent. Everything related with the performing arts, it’s me. I love to draw, paint, dance, in short... everything. Constantly my life is changing; changing my knowledge, situations, tragedies, moments, people, and that’s a great deal. I thought my life was boring, but I realized that when I can help anyone with a song, with a phrase, with a smile, my life hasn’t been in vain.
Finally, the reason why I call myself “il Pau” is because it means “The Paula” in Italian. The Paula, who can do everything she wants in life. The Paula, who can change the world. The Paula… the artist.
